Halloween Poster Contest 2020

    KDC is holding the Annual Halloween Poster Contest again for 2020 - however, this year we are hosting two events! An adult Halloween Party and for the first time, a Childrens Halloween Party!! We are asking local artists to help us design our event posters. Please see below for contest rules and submission guidelines. Cant wait to see what amazing art you guys come up with this year!!

    The Foley Krewe du Cirque Mardi Gras organization is accepting submissions for our Annual Halloween Party Posters

    The Children’s Poster contest is open to grades K-12.

    The Adult Poster contest is open to adults 18 and above.

    • Entries are due by August 1, 2020 no later than 2 p.m.

    • Two posters will be chosen – one for each event: Children’s Halloween Party and Adult Halloween Party

    • Contestants must reside in Baldwin County, in the state of Alabama. One winner will be selected for each event from all entries received by the deadline.

    Posters will be judged by the Krewe du Cirque Poster Committe and judging will be based on the following criteria:

    • Originality, creativity, and artistry of design

    • Clear and engaging messaging regarding the Halloween event

    • All the rules for poster design and submission are met (as outlined below)

    Winners will receive $100 and recognition in local newspapers and Krewe du Cirque marketing.

    The winners will be contacted and announced by the Poster Chairman by August 24, 2020.

    Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.


    1. Posters must be reflective of the contest’s themes of Halloween (and Circus if desired)
    2. Work must be original. Posters cannot include any copyrighted images or materials.
    3. Posters must be created by the entrant only. Only one poster per entrant.
    4. Posters must be on 11” x 17” up to 18” x 24” paper, poster board, etc. and in a medium that can be easily scanned and reproduced if chosen as the winner. The poster must be in a vertical format and have a border area if possible. Please frame if possible.
    5. Any mediums for two-dimensional artwork can be used (digital media, pens, markers, photographs, paint, charcoal, etc.) Please keep in mind that bright colors and bold letters and shapes are generally easier to see on posters.
    6. Poster artwork must include the following elements: 


    1. Event Date: October 17, 2020 from 6 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
    2. Event Name: KDC or Krewe du Cirque 4th Annual Halloween Party
    3. Event Location: Foley Civic Center, Foley, AL
    4. Event Theme:  Halloween (and Circus if desired)


    1. Event Date: October 16, 2020 from 6 p.m.  – 9 p.m.
    2. Event Name: KDC or Krewe du Cirque 1st Annual Children’s Halloween Party
    3. Event Location:  Foley Civic Center, Foley, AL
    4. Event Theme:  Halloween (and Circus if desired)


    • By submitting a poster to Krewe du Cirque, you hereby agree that your poster or representations of your poster may be used in professional, educational, exhibition, video production and/or presentation for Krewe du Cirque.

    • Non-winning submissions must be picked up by August 31, 2020. • The original artwork may not be returned, and may become the property of Krewe du Cirque.
